David H. Reynolds, 82, of Dover, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2025, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital at Canton.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, David was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Fondriest) Reynolds and a proud graduate of the former St. Joseph High School in Dover. He dedicated his career to being the Owner and Operator of the former D. Reynolds Machine Company in Dover, where his expertise and passion for craftsmanship was evident.
David was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia and was not only a skilled businessman but also an avid gun enthusiast. His love for firearms led him to be a member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association for an impressive 50 years, and he was a longtime member of the Tusco Rifle Club. He took great pride in his work as a gunsmith, honing his craft by checkering wooden gun stocks with precision and care. David’s enthusiasm for hunting and fishing was evident in countless adventures spent in nature. He found joy in hunting both deer and ducks and cherished memorable fishing trips on Lake Erie with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joann A. (Maybaugh) Reynolds of Dover; his children, David Reynolds of Dover and Denise (Reb) Billman of Stone Creek; his cherished grandchildren, Derik (Alicia) Billman and Denelle (Chad) Caudy; his great-grandchildren Ryan Billman, Kynsleigh Billman, Chase Caudy, Layton Caudy and his Siamese cat, Yoshe.
