David R. Kellogg, 59, of New Philadelphia passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at Columbus.A son of Ray and Helen Kellogg, David was born August 18, 1948 at Cleveland, Ohio.David graduated from Burton High School where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. He was an outstanding basketball player and was proud of the fact that he was named to the Cleveland Plain Dealer Dream Team.David attended The Ohio State University and after finishing his student teaching, he obtained his real estate license and eventually started a roofing company. He then accepted a job with an oil and gas company at Garrettsville, Ohio before relocating to New Philadelphia where he started his own oil and gas company. David enjoyed his work and was forever in search for the “big one”.He enjoyed being with his family and enjoyed spending his spare time boating and golfing. David was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan who was a 25 year season ticket holder with the franchise. David had an ornery personality who always enjoyed a good time. David will be deeply missed by his surviving family which include his parents, Ray and Helen Kellogg of Claridon, Ohio; his children, Lara (Kellogg) Lawrence and David (Amy) Kellogg both of New Philadelphia and Nicole Kellogg of Dover; his grandchildren, David, Samuel, Emily, Christopher and Julia Lawrence; two brothers, Jim (Barb) Kellogg of Chardon, Ohio and Ron (Debbie) Kellogg of Columbus, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Brian, Michael, Scott, Katie, Ty, Luke and Joanna Kellogg and his former wives, Suzzanne (Bango) Kellogg and Peggy (Page) Kellogg.In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will receive guests on Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view an online memorial by visiting the funeral home website.The family suggests that contributions be made in David’s memory to the David R.
