David Peoples

David Peoples, 71, of Tuscarawas, died Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.

A son of the late Doyle and Juanita (Blankenship) Peoples, David was born March 22, 1944 at Huntington, West Virginia.

David graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1962.  That same year he enlisted with the United States Army and honorably served his county until 1970.

On October 22, 1966, David married the love of his life, the former Brenda Smallwood and together the couple raised four children, Bryan, Michael, Nick and Wendy.

He was the owner and operator of Peoples Satellite which he started in 1979 and ultimately retired in 2006.  For the past 8 years, along with Brenda and Michael, he traveled the country to work at various military bases.

David enjoyed yardwork and tending to flowers, especially his cacti.  Most of all he cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Peoples; his children, Bryan (Juliet) Peoples of Dublin, Ohio, Michael Peoples and Nick Peoples both of Tuscarawas and Wendy (Brad) Stress of Sugarcreek; his grandchildren, Casey, Sean, Erin and Tommy Peoples and Kody, Kory and Kaitlyn Stress and two sisters, Pat (John) Moore and Buni (John) Maurer both of Tuscarawas.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Peoples.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A funeral service celebrating David’s life will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Ervin officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg.
