David N. Sudduth, 59 of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 in his home.
He was born and raised in Dover, Ohio, the son of Mildred (Milly) Sudduth (Paulus) and the late Dean E. Sudduth.
Dave was a Boy Scout Troop 99 Eagle Scout, a member of the Dover First Moravian Church and then later becoming a member of the Mission Bend Methodist Church of Houston, Texas. He graduated in 1974 from Dover High School.
David continued his secondary education at Kent State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and then went on to earn a Master’s of Science from the University of Houston.
David is survived by his loving wife, Dana M. Sudduth; they married on Jan. 23, 1982 and made their life together in Houston, Texas. They had one son, Ryan Neal Sudduth, of whom David was very proud and loved dearly.
David worked for various oil companies including Arco Oil & Gas and BP Oil & Gas, where he was hard working and was an accomplished Senior Exploration Geologist.
David had a passion for animals, especially his dog Vader. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and vacationing with his family in Colorado and New Mexico.
David is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Kim Sudduth and their children, Chloe’ and Wyatt of Cleveland, Ohio; his sister and brother-in-law, Renee’ and Charles Bancroft and their daughters, Jessica and Kayla of New Egypt, N.J.; his uncle and aunt, Robert and Wilma Perry of North Canton, Ohio and cousins Leslie Teter, Gail Dufford, Debra Perry, Steve Perry, Karen Chatman and Beth Miller.
He is preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Earl and Dorothy (Dotty) Paulus of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends.
Following cremation, there will be a graveside service conducted by Pastor John Wallace of the Dover First Moravian Church on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia, Ohio. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements.
