David Mark “Dave” Farrow, 71, of New Philadelphia passed away November 13, 2018 at his home following a sudden health issue.
Born in Cleveland on February 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen E. Farrow. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Dave honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the 1st Infantry Division.
Throughout his lifetime, he shared his artistic talent with family and friends around the world, painting beautiful pieces of art. He also had a love for fishing and hunting arrowheads with his family. Dave always enjoyed a good sci-fi movie and watching the History Channel.
Most importantly, he loved and adored his wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was at greatest peace and contentment when he was with his grandchildren supporting their extra-curricular activities.
Dave will be long remembered for his humble personality, gracious spirit, and cheerful attitude. He knew no strangers, and was always quick with a compliment and had a genuine interest in the well-being of others and their stories.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, the former Lorraine E. Lehigh; his children, Michelle (Orvis) Campbell, James Farrow, and Jane (Rick) Varner; his grandchildren, Jessica (Blake) Burgess, Brandon (Sara) Swiney, Maddie Campbell, Griffin Campbell, Tasha (James) Jackson, Robert (Brook) Riley, Lacey Varner, Alexis, Tyler and Kaylee Farrow; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve Farrow, Mary (Jack) Rothenberger and Sue (Mike) Winkler; his mother-in-law, Irene Lehigh; and brother-in-law, John (Sue Kimble, companion) Lehigh. Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends complete the family.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Farrow.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM. The New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445 will render military honors at the funeral home prior to visitation at 3:45 PM.
