David L. Troyer, 61, of 2191 Township Rd. 414, Dundee, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in Pomerene Memorial Hospital at Millersburg. An autopsy will be performed to determine the actual cause of death, whether Mr. Troyer may have suffered a medical condition or whether he fell and drowned while fishing.Born Feb. 7, 1941, in Holmes county, he was a son of the late Levi and Amanda Miller Troyer. He was a member of the Old Order Amish.On June 7, 1962, he married the former Amanda Weaver, who survives.Also surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. David (Mary) Yoder of the home, Mrs. Merle (Barbara) Mast and Mrs. Myron (Arlene) Mast, both of Holmesville, Mrs. Ron (Esther) Freels of Brewster, Mrs. Robert (Erma) Short of Beach City, Mrs. Steve (Martha) Miller of Millersburg, Mrs. Wes (Betty) Miller of Berlin, and Mrs. david (Fannie) Miller of Apple Creek; one son, Robert (Ruth) Troyer of Apple Creek; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (Barbara) Troyer and Robert (Edna) Troyer, both of Millersburg; and three sisters, Mary Troyer, Fannie Troyer and Betty Troyer, all of Dundee. A brother, Roy, is deceased.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 9 a.m. in the Troyer residence. Bishop Delbert D. Hershberger will officiate, and burial will follow in Yoder Cemetery in Paint Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Monday in Troyer residence. Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangments.
