Darryl “Leonard” Britton

Darryl L. “Leonard” Britton, 65, of Amberwood Manor, New Philadelphia, died Friday, March 16, 2018 while in the care of Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born at Morgantown, West Virginia on September 6, 1952, Leonard was a son of the late Willie Francis Britton, Jr. and Mary Virginia Hendershot Evans.

Leonard was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army. Professionally, Leonard was the Safety Administrator for Ergon Trucking at Magnolia. He was also a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Football.

He is survived by his siblings, C. Keith (Lora) Britton of Bolivar, Kevin (Jackie) Evans, Edward Evans, and Vicki Robb all of Malvern, as well as his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Berry and Marlene Petros; and his step-father, Benjamin Evans.

A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation care has been conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.

The family requests memorial contributions in Leonard’s name be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
