Darl Beach, 83, of New Philadelphia, died early Friday morning, May 10, 2013 in Hennis Care & Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Raymond G. and Elizabeth (Booth) Beach, Darl was born August 6, 1929 at Jewett, Ohio.
Darl was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Japan during the post World War II operations.
He was a longtime employee of Arizona Chemical and retired in 1994 as a Hydro Operator. Darl was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and he was an avid fisherman. He was also quite the craftsman building two of his homes during his lifetime. Most of all, Darl was a family man and he cherished the time spent with them.
Surviving is his loving wife, Norma (Besozzi) Beach whom he married on September 9, 1950; his children, David (Janet) Beach of Durham, North Carolina, Gary (Vickie) Beach of New Philadelphia and Vickie (Greg) Bland of Tuscarawas; his grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Allen of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Darric (Helen) Beach of Charlotte, North Carolina, Roy (Kristi) Beach of New Philadelphia, Scott (Ashley) Beach of New Concord, Ohio, Dena Bland of New Philadelphia, Allsion (Joe) Johnson of New Philadelphia and Jessica Bland of Tuscarawas; his great grandchildren, Madilyn and Jonathan Allen, Nyla, Hunter, Matthew and Savannah Beach, Mykenzie and Cailey Johnson and Bryson Bland; a sister, Carol Galanga of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.
Darl was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Beach.
In keeping with Darl’s wishes, calling hours will be private and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeff Coning celebrating. Cremation will follow Mass and inurnment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. A luncheon will be held in St. Ambrose Hall following Mass.
