Darcy Krieger

Darcy Michelle Krieger, 33, of New Philadelphia died unexpectedly early Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

Born in Union Hospital at Dover, Darcy is the daughter of the Mark (Gayle) Krieger of Delaware, Ohio and Karen (Bret) Greco of New Philadelphia.

Darcy was a 2002 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and furthered her education at Kent State University Tuscarawas and the University of Akron. Most recently, she was employed by The Mill Restaurant in Buehler’s at New Philadelphia.

She was an avid lover of all animals, but had a special passion for cats and penguins. Her sense of humor, compassion for others, drive for life and giving heart were what made Darcy special to so many. She loved coloring, reading, knitting, journaling and supporting those with mental illness by contributing to online support groups. She also enjoyed sending cards and gifts to those in her life, and often found and gave eclectic gifts she encountered during shopping trips.

In addition to her parents, Darcy is survived by her companion, Zack Baer of New Philadelphia; her sisters, Michelle (Graham Weber) Keffer of Austin, Texas, Rachel (Shawn) Cunningham of Marysville, Ohio, and Julieanne (fiancé, Kevin Myers) Greco of Indiana; a niece, Miette Weber; her grandparents, Richard and Shirley Schweitzer of Barnhill, Arlene Krieger of Dover, and Joyce Greco of New Philadelphia; her best friend, Jen Bublycz; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will also be greatly missed by her feline companions, Dr. Tinycat, Rudy, Jeannie and Hobbes.

Darcy was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Clem Krieger and Joe Greco.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1-4 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Scott Nellis will lead a service celebrating Darcy’s life on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
