Danny Patrick McWilliams, age 57, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover following a sudden illness.A son of the late Junior D. McWilliams and Alfreda (Noss) Brown, Danny was born in Union Hospital at Dover on April 21, 1952.A graduate of Indian Valley North’s class of 1970, Danny would go on to work for the Timken Roller Bearing Company at New Philadelphia. A position he has held for more than 35 years.In his spare time, Danny enjoyed being out of doors. He was passionate about working with his chainsaws and cutting firewood for hours on end. He enjoyed the time spent with good friends as they worked along side one another to manicure an area tree farm.When the hard work was over, Danny enjoyed hosting weekend evenings with his family and friends as they would often share stories and food around the campfire. Danny leaves behind his family that include a sister, Pat (Don) Liggett of Dover; a brother, Ray McWilliams, of Strasburg, his companion Sherri Patterson of Mineral City; and his best friend, Eric Golder of New Philadelphia.A niece Steph (Joe) Miller; a nephew, Bryan Gray all of Strasburg, two great-nieces, Harley and Riley Miller; and a great-nephew, Mason Miller, as well as a special cousin, Scott McWilliams and numerous other cousins and dear friends complete the family.In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, 2009, from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The Reverend Gary Friend will lead a service celebrating Danny’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday, December 21, 2009, at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.Following services, the family will return to the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home at New Philadelphia where a meal and fellowship will be shared.Danny was a caring and giving individual who enjoyed helping others. In this spirit the family requests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.
