Danny P. Irwin

Danny P. Irwin, 52, of Sherrodsville, died Monday, September 12, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio following a motorcycle accident. A son of Betty M. Irwin and the late Paul E. Irwin, Danny was born in Dover, Ohio on May 8, 1953. A 1972 graduate of Tusky Valley High School, he was formerly employed by the Timken Roller Bearing Company of Canton and for the past 21 years was employed by the State of Ohio, Department of Safety as a load limit inspector. Danny’s first love was farming; his love of the outdoors led him to enjoy rabbit hunting and other outdoor activities. He was member of the Caldwell Masonic Lodge #330 of Bolivar, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite of the Valley of Canton.In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Kathy J. (Mercer) Irwin, one brother, David L. Irwin of Zoar; one sister, Sally D. (Mike) Wilson of Zoarville; three brothers-in-law, James A. (Jo Ann) Mercer of New Philadelphia, Jerome E. (Carol) Mercer of Manchester, MD., and Danny L. Mercer of Union City, Ca., and one sister-in-law, Sara J. Mercer-Sells and Jack Sells of Johnstown Ohio. In addition he leaves his two beloved beagles Maggie Mae and Katie Jo.He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Tommy Irwin.Visitation will be Friday September 16, 2005 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Friends may call any time after 4 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 6 p.m., with a memorial service to conclude visitation at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glen Shedlock Officiating.A reception will be held at the Geib Family Center following the Memorial Service.Memorial contributions honoring Danny’s life may be made to the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound C/O Colonial Manor 441 University Drive N.E.
