Danna Lavonne Hanlon

Danna Lavonne Hanlon, age 67, of Bowerston, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, February 25, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover following a lengthy illness.

Born March 13, 1944 in Connersville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Bernice (Issac) Lakes and the late Dan Lakes.

Danna completed her formal education in Tuscon, Arizona. She then spent more than 30 years working for Southern Bell, GTE, Phone Mart, Huntington Bank, and Chase Bank.

Danna greatly enjoyed fishing, playing the slot machines in Arizona, and was an avid reader.

On August 16, 1991, Danna married her faithful friend and partner, James Hanlon, in the Tuscarawas County Courthouse.

Danna will be deeply missed by her husband, James; her daughter, Nicole (Jeff) Mitres of Sherrodsville; her son, Brian (Christy) Flores of New Philadelphia; her daughter, Yvette Harper of New Philadelphia; her brothers, Bill (Gloria) Lakes of Connersville, IN, and Kevin Lakes of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren, Lexi, Brennen, and Kelby Flores, Peyton Mitres, and Ashley Harper, LaVonne Froman, Curtis Harper, and Hailey Harper; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Froman and Holden Harper; two step-daughters, Kathy Harding and Kelly (Dave) McLandsborough, both of New Philadelphia; one step-son, John (Sharon Ayers) Hanlon of Dover; and 6 step-grandchildren, Nick and Justin Harding, Danielle and Calvin Hanlon, and Chelsie and Bethanie McLandsborough.

In addition to her father, Danna was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Lakes.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, February 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Danna’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.

Friends are invited to the Geib Hospitality Center, located across from Dover Burial Park, where a meal will be shared following the graveside service.
