Daniel Stemple

Daniel J. Stemple, 68, of Uhrichsville, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his home following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Kenneth O. and Anna M. (Yegher) Stemple, Dan was born January 27, 1947 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.

Dan was a veteran of the United States Navy. He earned a Master’s degree in Construction Management and was a proud union worker who was a member of the Millwright Local #1090 of Cleveland. Dan was also a member of the Old West Masonic Lodge at Newhall, California.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and also raced his own car at Midvale Speedway. Most of all, he cherished his grandchildren and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Robb) Stemple whom he married on February 1, 1974; three children, Daniel (Julie) Stemple II of Owensboro, Kentucky, Rene (Chris) Johnson of New Philadelphia and Kenneth (Heather) Stemple of Dover; five grandchildren, Brenton and Drew Stemple, Tyler Johnson and Kenneth and Cierra Stemple; his sister, Michelle (Jim) Hothem of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Fr. Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial with Military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. A luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia following the committal service.
