Daniel Renner

Daniel V. Renner, 76, of Dover, passed away in Hennis Care Center at Dover on Sunday, October 8, 2017, following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover on March 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Victor Sidney and Susan Vesta (Freshwater) Renner.

Dan graduated from Dover High School in 1959 prior to honorably serving his country in the United States Air Force. Dan then continued his education at Washburn University at Topeka, Kansas where he earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree. He then spent his career in home construction, ultimately retiring from Pacesetter Homes in Nebraska after 20 years of employment.

On July 4, 1967, Dan married the former Kathleen Anne Kennedy in South Dakota. In addition to his wife, Dan is survived by his two brothers, Roger and Jerry (Barb) Renner, both of Dover; his sister, Stefanie (Richard) Hathorn of Dover and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Dan’s life will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with his brother-in-law, Major Richard Hathorn, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
