Daniel Pietro

January 5, 1963 — November 2, 2017

Daniel David Pietro, age 54, of Lake Worth, Florida, (formerly of Dover, Ohio) passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, after a period of declining health.

Danny is the son of the late Robert and Carmaleita (Burford) Pietro. He was born in Dover on January 5, 1963. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Cundra) Pietro, with whom he recently celebrated 30 years of marriage, and their faithful canine companion, Coco. Danny was also a graduate of Kent State University and spent his career serving as a stock broker.

Danny was a bright light to many. His infectious laughter and kind-hearted spirit made him an excellent husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Danny positively impacted many people in his life, but his wife and family felt especially blessed to be able to share life with him. He deeply enjoyed hosting family and friends from Ohio and always made sure to show legendary hospitality to his guests. Danny also cherished moments that he was able to fish or spend time on the golf course.
In 2016, Danny was the recipient of a double-lung transplant. He courageously fought through the trials of this procedure and, true to form, found the positive in even the most challenging times. His strength, positivity and unwavering faith were an example to many. Through this time, Danny’s personal faith was strengthened and he was quick to tell others about the peace and joy he found in Christ.

In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by his brother Robert (Barb) Pietro of Largo, Florida and his sisters Irene (Randy) Kamban of New Philadelphia and Sylvia (Rod) Dessecker of Dover. He was also greatly loved by his nieces, nephews, great-niece and great-nephews who adored spending time with Uncle Dan and Aunt Kathy.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Winfield United Methodist Church, 5247 State Route 516, Dover, OH 44622 where Pastor Joe Schulz will lead a service celebrating Danny’s life beginning at 1 PM.
