Daniel N. Stafford, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in North Canton, on Friday, November 28, 2003.Born in New Philadelphia on November 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Homer I.N. and Leila Lappin Stafford.He was a 1943 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and an alumnus of both Mt. Union College and Kent State University. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps after his high school graduation and was based on Guam with the 314th Bomb Wing.He retired in l988 from the Ford Motor Company in Lorain, OH, after 31 years of service.Daniel was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Richmond, Indiana, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and a life-long member of the American Legion.He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Anne Pearch; three sons, Daniel G. Stafford of North Canton, David N. (Maria) Stafford of Aurora, and Donald E. (Brenda) Stafford of West Chester; and seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dr. Ellenor Knowles Stafford Milio.Services for Daniel will be Tuesday, December 2, at 2:00 pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel in New Philadelphia with Pastor William Sowers officiating. Friends may call on the family in the chapel one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, GA 31079-3498; the Boy Scouts of America, National Council, P.O. Box 152079, Irving, TX, 75015-2079; or the donor’s local American Heart Association.
