Daniel L. Ocheltree

Daniel L. Ocheltree, 50, of Sherrodsville, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, following a brave struggle with cancer.Born in Millersburg, OH on June 23, 1953, Daniel was the son of Doy L. and the late Ruth Petrey Ocheltree and attended Strasburg High School. A truck driver by profession, Daniel was part-owner of Dizz Trucking in New Philadelphia.He was married to the former Sandra K. Pope on April 15, 2000. Daniel enjoyed listening to a variety of musical styles and spending time with his family.In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one daughter, Dana (Les) Skelly of Beach City; two sons, Richard (Theresa) Ocheltree of Beach City and Daniel of New Philadelphia; one step daughter, Olivia (Art) Baker of Dennison; two step-sons, David (Misty) Burkholder of Bakersville and Brian (Joyce) Wolfe of New Philadelphia; one sister, Esther Van Fossen; two half-brothers, Roger and Brian; four half sisters, Sherry Lantzer, Carol Jacobs, Kathy Arney, and Mildred; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; four aunts, five uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, his brother, Doy Lee Ocheltree, Jr., and grandparents, Ivan and Ada Esther Petrey and Bernard and Pearl Ocheltree.The family will host a visitation on Sunday afternoon, July 27, 2003, from 2-4 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 28, 2003, at 1:30 PM with Pastor Kevin R. Anslow, of Dover Bethel Chapel officiating. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Memory Garden in Dover.Memorial contributions in honor of his life may be made to the family.
