Dana Krebs

Dana M. Krebs, 82, New Philadelphia, died Friday, October 3, 2003, in Butler, PA, where she had been under her daughter’s loving care during the past few weeks. Born in New Philadelphia on March 4, l921, Dana was one of four daughters born to the now late Clifford and Rose Uher Beans.She was a member of the l940 graduating class of Midvale High School, and, later, a graduate of Beckwith Business College, formerly in New Philadelphia. She served as a legal secretary in the government offices of Dayton, Ohio, until her marriage to James Krebs in l943.The two shared in the nurturing of their daughter, Sharon, and celebrated 40 years of marriage before James’ death in l983.Dana will long be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active with the Elks Ladies, the Rebecca Circle at Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member, and later, with the National and Tuscarawas County AARP and Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens.She will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Kim Sedwick of Butler, PA; three granddaughters, Amy, Meg, and Aby; sisters, Kay Day and Jean Stevenson of New Philadelphia; brother-in-law, Dave Stevenson of Dover; nieces, Jane Benko of Virginia and Kathy Collins of Mississippi, and nephew, Dave Stevenson, Jr. of Dover.Her parents, husband, and one sister, Norma Stevenson, preceded her in death.Following a private committal, a public memorial service will be Saturday, October 11, 2003, at 1:00 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Walters of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating. A reception in the Geib Family Center will follow the service and allow friends and family to share special memories. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Greater Butler, Comfort Care, 267 Pittsburgh Road, Suites B and C, Butler, PA, 16002-3954, to acknowledge their compassion and assistance.
