Dale Richard Allenbaugh, age 39, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and formerly of Dover and Fairlawn Ohio, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, November 5, 2005.Born at Lima, Ohio April 17, 1966, Dale was a son of Vickie Golder of Dover, and Dale (Carol) G. Allenbaugh of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Dale was a 1984 graduate of Firestone High School. Dale was widely known throughout the broadcasting industry as an on air personality Dale Richards, and was formerly affiliated with “Rock 107” WRQK at Canton. Throughout his career, he worked at radio stations at Canton and Cleveland, Ohio, at Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Dale was also a popular disc jockey at clubs wherever he resided, especially Cleveland’s PM, the Crazy Horse, and Diamonds Men’s Club in the Cleveland area.In addition to his parents, Dale’s family includes two sons, fifteen year old Dale R. Allenbaugh II, and fourteen year old Marshall Tyler Allenbaugh both of Asheville, NC, his brother, Scott Allenbaugh of Dover, a niece, Ashleigh Allenbaugh of Lawndale NC, a maternal grandmother, Helen Golder of Frankfort, Indiana, and a paternal grandfather Ralph Allenbaugh of Dover.Dale was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Charlotte Allenbaugh and maternal grandfather Richard Golder, and an uncle, Bruce Allenbaugh.Friends are invited to call from 1 to 3 PM Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2005 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Dale’s uncle, Richard Golder will officiate a funeral ceremony there at 3 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Cremation will follow through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Cremation Service.
