Dale E. Peterman, age 70 of Dennison, went peacefully to be with the Lord, on Friday, January 10, 2025, in his residence, following a period of declining health.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on June 16, 1954, Dale was the son of the late Harold and Betty Meese Peterman. Following his graduation from the former Indian Valley North High School, Dale entered into the United States Marine Corps, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War.
Following his honorable discharge from military service, Dale embarked on a diverse career path, beginning as a car salesman where he honed his skills in customer service and sales. His next chapter led him to 7 Up of Midvale, before transitioning to Tusco.Net, a pioneering Internet service provider to the Tuscarawas Valley. Throughout his career, Dale’s drive for independence led him to establish his own business, Elad Computer Services, where he built a reputation for providing excellent service and expertise.
A self-taught individual, Dale had an extraordinary ability to build, repair, and create just about anything. Whether it was through welding, woodworking, or tackling complex computer issues, Dale took immense pride in his work. His passion for helping others was evident, and he was always willing to lend a hand, whether to family, friends, or clients.
Above all, Dale's greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially during their summer vacations. Dale found true joy in supporting and watching his grandchildren as they participated in their various activities. One most recent and treasured memory was witnessing the exciting finale of an undefeated season of football as he proudly watched his son and grandsons contribute to the Indian Valley High School Football Team’s victory in the Division IV State Football Championship.
Dale is survived by his wife, of 51 years, the former Deb Hillyer whom he married on June 16, 1973; their children, Chad (Heather) Peterman of Dennison, Staci (Drew) Dunn of New Philadelphia; a daughter-in-law, Tressa Peterman Moore of Canton; his grandchildren, Tristan (Ellie), Davin, and Valicia Peterman, Hunter, Titan and Maverick Peterman, Emmett, Boston, and Dylan Dunn; a great-granddaughter, Azalea Peterman; his sisters, Sharon (Mitch) Belknap, Joyce (Eric) Fondriest, Sally (Jerry) Wigfield, and Linda (Mike) Slater; his brothers and sisters-in law, Randy (Marian) Hillyer, Cindy, (Joel) Peterson, and Marie “Toni” Hillyer; and his “Marine Corps Brother”, Dan (Sue) Yamtich, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother and father, Dale was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Heidi Peterman; a son, Ryan Peterman, a Granddaughter, Harlow Alizabeth Dunn; a brother-in-law, Brian Hillyer; two sisters-in-law, Karen Kirk and Lorie Hillyer; and his mother and father-in-law, Marcella and Bud Hillyer.
The family will greet guests during a memorial visitation on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Dave Bryan will lead a memorial service honoring Dale’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11: 00 AM.
