Dale Jay Powell

Dale Jay Powell, age 36, of Dover, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 15, 2005.The son of Patricia Powell and the late Dale J. Powell of Dover, Jay was born on August 22, 1968 in Canton, O.Jay was a 1987 graduate of Dover High School and was employed by Dunham Sports of New Philadelphia. He belonged to the Fantasy Football League and enjoyed bowling.He will be greatly missed by his mother; four sisters, Diane Wallick, of New Philadelphia, Jan Starkey of Wadsworth, O., Kathy (Pete) Dasco, of East Canton and Tarry Hurst, of Wadsworth; three nephews and two nieces, Josh and Nikki Wallick, Cole Hurst and Tricia and Sam Dasco; many aunts, uncles and cousins; the many special friends from the Fantasy Football League and his cat, Spike.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Dorothy Bevan; and his paternal grandparents, Hugh and Mary Powell.Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. A service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Max Canfield of the First Brethren Church in New Philadelphia officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park. A reception at the Geib Family Center will follow the committal.
