Dale J. Roudebush, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday evening, July 29, 2013 in Union Hospital at Dover.
Born in New Philadelphia on August 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Perry Dewey and Anna Cordilia (Finnicum) Roudebush.
After completing his formal education, Dale began his professional career as an electrician and a maintenance person. He worked for 11 years with the Kimble Company and spent the majority of his career at the former Evans Brick where he worked for 32 years.
On January 7, 1949, Dale married his lifelong friend and companion, Barbara Alice (Rees) Roudebush. Together, their faith was nurtured at the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia where they had been longtime members. Dale had a great love for building and working on stock cars also.
Dale is survived by his wife; his daughter, Jennifer (Mike Stroup) Knight of New Philadelphia; sons, Dennis (Karen) Roudebush of Elmwood, Illinois, and Ted (Margaret) Roudebush of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Hamilton of Dover, Abby (Keith) Cua of Anderson, South Carolina, Andrea “Andi” (Jason Burick) Knight of Cleveland, Ohio, Whitney (Tom) Maier and Courtney Roudebush, both of Elmwood, Illinois, Kaitlyn and Alison Roudebush, both of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Jaye, Owen, and Livie Hamilton, Ainsley and Nick Cua, Dechlan Roudebush, and Quincy Maier; and sisters, Thelma Romig of New Philadelphia, and Shirley Hulett of Tuscarawas.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse (Faye) Roudebush, and his son-in-law, Robert Knight.
Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. A memorial service will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, August 2, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brian Flood will officiate Dale’s service.
