Dale Edwin Couch, 78, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2015 following complications of a stroke.
Born in New Philadelphia on January 18, 1937, he was the son of the late George Edwin and Frances L. (Walker) Couch.
After completing his formal education, Dale spent 29 years working for Valley Mining. Dale also was a caretaker for the First Church of God on Tuscarawas Ave. in New Philadelphia.
On October 2, 1988, he married the former Izena Morrison who survives. He will also be missed by his children, Ronnie Couch and Dale Allen Couch, both of Florida, Debbie Couch of New Philadelphia, and Tony Couch of Virginia; his step-children, Patricia Pankratz of Cleveland, Gary Wallick of New Philadelphia, and Jim Wallick of Newcomerstown; his sister, Eileen Turrin of New Philadelphia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his son, Michael Couch; his step-son, Randy Wallick; his siblings, Veda Engledinger and Garry Couch; and his niece, Sherry Paris.
Cremation has been entrusted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover. A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday beginning at 2 pm with Pastors Jim Wallick and Matt Roe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow the service at Evergreen Burial Park.
A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, following the committal service.
Memorial contributions in Dale’s memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
