Dale Eugene Walton, age 90, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.A son of the late Charles E. and Clara A. (Swinderman) Walton, Dale was born at New Philadelphia on September 11, 1919.He was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and went on to serve in the United States Army as a member of HM Tank Ordnance 566th Company during World War II. His company was assigned to the European Theatre and was stationed at Holland, Belgium, and Germany.Upon his discharge Dale returned home to attend technical school where he studied radio repair. Upon earning his certification he opened Dale’s Radio, TV, and Hobby Shop at New Philadelphia and operated the business until the late 1980’s.In his younger years, Dale enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and working on projects around the house.He was a devoted husband to his wife of sixty-nine years, the former Lillian Reesman, whom he married on April 4, 1941. He is also survived by a brother, Harold Walton of Dover and eleven nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Walton and two infant children.Pastor Dick Greenwood will lead a graveside service on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Members of the Carl C.
