Dale D. Moss, age 71, of Dover, died Friday, January 25, 2013, in his residence following a brief illness.
A son of the late Greely and Eunice (Sears) Moss, Dale was born at Tuscarawas County on August 10, 1941.
He attended Dover High School and joined the workforce at an early age prior to enlisting in to the United States Army. Upon his discharge, Dale returned to the Tuscarawas Valley and began working for East Sparta Ceramic Tile for more than 30 years prior to retiring.
After retirement, Dale enjoyed his time as a crossing guard for Dover Schools and kept busy by shoveling snow, mowing grass and helping others around his apartment complex. In his free time, Dale enjoyed hunting, watching classic western and war movies as well as traveling with his companion to historical places throughout the United States. Most of all, Dale enjoyed the company of family and friends and especially enjoyed hanging out every week with his special friends Jack and Helen Furniss and Bob Limbacher.
Survivors include his companion of 17 years, Linda Sell; two sons, Randy (Cindy) Moss of Port Washington, Jeff Moss of Montana; a daughter, Jennifer (fiancé, Kevin Burke) Moss of Dover; a step-son, Joshua Kuryn; a step-daughter, Deanna Birney; a brother, Jarrite (Pat) Moss; and a sister, Jean (Dale) Eckert all of Mineral City.
Nine grandchildren, a step-granddaughter and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends complete the family.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Woody and Jerome Moss and a sister, Mary L. Brannon.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 4:00 -7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with cremation following visitation.
