Daisy V. Brown, 94, of Mineral City, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover.A daughter of the late Omer and Laura (Stahlecker) Kiser, Daisy was born October 21, 1914 at Rose Township in Carroll County, Ohio.Daisy attended New Philadelphia High School and later she married her childhood sweetheart, William “Don” Brown. Daisy and Don reared two children, Kenneth and Laura Ann. The couple shared nearly 62 years of marriage prior to Don’s passing on March 15, 1995.She was a member of First Christian Church at New Philadelphia and the former Leesville Eastern Star Lodge #302. Daisy was also active in numerous Grange organizations. She was a member of the Fairfield Grange since 1930, the Pomona Grange and the state and national Granges.She is survived by her children, Kenneth (LeEtta) Brown of Mineral City and Laura Ann Speicher of New Philadelphia, her grandchildren, William (Jennifer) Brown of Mineral City, Linda (Mike) Wood of Harrison, Arkansas, Lori (Steve) Contini of Dover, Lisa (Donald) Barbee of Columbus, Ohio, Lila (James) Beatty of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Beth (Richard) Lowe of Mineral City; great grandchildren, Alex Barbee of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew and Ben Lowe of Mineral City, Sarah (Justin) Berry of Harrison, Arkansas; Christal Contini of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Nikki Contini of Hilliard, Ohio; a great great grandson, Evan Berry of Harrison, Arkansas and one brother, Omer (Peg) Kiser of New Philadelphia.Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; a brother, Curtis Kiser and her son-in-law, Bob Speicher.Friends may call on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Daisy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. Burial will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery.
