Cynthia Lynn Bevan

Cynthia Lynn (Petry) Bevan, Dover, formerly of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. She was 33.The daughter of Mary K. (Jones) Petry and the late John W. Petry, Cynthia was born in Dover, Ohio, on November 8, 1971, and was a 1990 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Cynthia was a familiar smiling face at New Towne Mall in New Philadelphia where she was manager of Shoe Sensations. She had also been a local sales representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She enjoyed family activities and was devoted to her nieces, her nephews, and her newest grand-niece.Cynthia leaves behind her mother, Mary; her husband of 3 ½ years, Denis M. Bevan; sister, Anita (Mike) Ballentine of New Philadelphia; brothers, Kevin (Amanda) Petry of Grafton, Ohio and Keith Petry of New Philadelphia; step-daughter, Miranda Knotts; the “babies” she shared with Denis, kitty cats Meathead and Cali; and her dear nieces, nephews, and great-niece.Friends may call on Cynthia’s family at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Friday evening, April 1, 2005, between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m and on Saturday morning, April 2, 2005, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the Saturday morning visitation, a service to celebrate her life will be conducted by her brothers-in-law, Mike Ballentine and Pastor Mark Handy in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia.Following the committal, members of the Sugarcreek Free Methodist Church and the First Church of the Brethren in New Philadelphia will provide a reception for Cynthia’s family members and friends at the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O.
