Cynthia K. Adams-Endres, age 51, of New Philadelphia passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover of complications following a courageous, 15-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born April 14, 1958 in Dover, she was the daughter of Brenda I. (Kelly) Clever and the late Robert A. Adams. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1976, Cindy began working as a manager for Endres Floral from 1975 to 1983 at the kiosk in Monroe Mall. Later, she joined the staff at The New Towne Mall where she worked as the guest services manager.Cindy was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia throughout her lifetime. Despite her own battle with MS, Cindy maintained her role as a caregiver for others, even on the most difficult days. She met her commitment to be in touch with her friends and family and to look out for their well-being. She loved to bake and enjoyed putting puzzles together. She was incredibly proud of her two sons and never passed on an opportunity to spend time with them. Cindy was also proud of her Irish heritage, serving as a member of the Tuscarawas County Irish Celebration committee. St. Patrick’s Day was always celebrated in her house. She also was an avid black lab lover including her own, Keeley.Cindy will be greatly missed by her family which includes her mother, Brenda Clever; her long-time companion, John Ickes of New Philadelphia; her two sons, Andrew B. Ickes of Pittsburgh, and Seth P. Endres of New Philadelphia; her brother, Dave Adams of New Philadelphia; her half-brother, Eric Adams of Canton; her half-sister, Kim (Ray) Haswell of Strasburg; a special niece and nephew, Maddie and Brennen Adams; and a close aunt, Pat Ricklic of New Philadelphia. In addition to her father, Cindy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Patrick Brennen and Irene Kelly; and her paternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Adams.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Christian Wake Service will commence at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared after the committal service.
