Curly V. Endlich, 72, of Stone Creek passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in his home, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
A son of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Ault) Endlich, Curly was born in Dover, Ohio on February 15, 1945.
Following his graduation from Stone Creek High School in 1964, Curly proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Armco (the former Reeves Steel) following 32 years of service. During this time, he also worked numerous construction jobs throughout the area. He was an active member of Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church.
Curly had a love for many things. One of his biggest passions was his motorcycle and spending time riding with his friends. Another was hunting; it didn’t matter if it was deer, squirrel, raccoon, mushrooms or ginseng, he enjoyed being outdoors and being with his faithful Border Collie friend, Misty. He also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
His biggest love was his family. He was proud to the be Grandpa to his five grandchildren, Erica, Claire, Lily, Penelope and Michael.
Curly will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 years, the former Marie Fockler, whom he married on July 25, 1971; a daughter, Tonya Endlich of Stone Creek; a son, Shawn (Denise) Endlich of Newcomerstown; his five beloved grandchildren; a brother, Randy Endlich of Massillon; a sister, Sue (Rusty) Pittis of Newcomerstown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Curly was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Becky Endlich; a sister-in-law, Cathi Endlich; and a nephew, Cory Endlich.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5-8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. With keeping the comfort of guests in mind, Curly’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11 AM in Grace Community Church at Stone Creek and the family will also greet guests at the church an hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery. Following services, all are invited to join the family in the Salem Evans Creek Social Hall for a luncheon reception.
Curly’s family wishes to thank Community Hospice for all of the kindness and support during this difficult time. They also extend a special thank you to all of their friends, family and community members for their never-ending love and support. You all will always and forever be in our hearts.
