Cosby Fern Stone, age 56 of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, September 2, 2005, in her home. Born at Cool Ridge, West Virginia, December 22, 1948, Cosby was a daughter of the late Stephen Alva Bowling and Eva Mae Hatcher Bowling. Cosby and her family relocated from West Virginia to Lorain, Ohio while she was a teenager. She was a graduate of Lorain High School. Mrs. Stone was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at New Philadelphia. She was a fan of Tweety Bird and the Pillsbury Doughboy Â? and enjoyed collecting images of both of them. In1975, she married Ted Stone. The two celebrated their thirtieth anniversary together on May 10 of this year. In addition to her husband, survivors include her step-son Keith (Tami) Stone of Mineral City, a step-daughter; Debbie Atkinson of Skelton, West Virginia, and three daughters; Lisa (Scott) Johnston of North Canton, Ohio, Michelle (Jerry) Holt of Cambridge, Ohio, Beth Garcia of Canton, Ohio, three sisters; Janice (Paul) Setliff, of LaGrange, Ohio, Mary (Duke) Carson of Lexington, North Carolina, Martha (Pat) Seabolt of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, two brothers; Acel (Kathy) Bowling of Elyria, Ohio and John (Kathi) Bowling of Lorain, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stone is preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Pack, Evelyn Wyatt, and Janet Mae Harvey, four infant brothers, and one infant grandchild. Pastor Don Snow will officiate Cosby’s funeral ceremony Tuesday morning at 11 AM in the Calvary Baptist Church on Oldtown Valley Road. Friends are invited to call at the church one hour prior to services. The family will travel to Flat Top, West Virginia, on Wednesday for burial at the Flat Top Cemetery with graveside services there at 1PM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Stone Memorial Fund in care of the Calvary Baptist Church, 1507 Oldtown Valley Road SE New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
