Cora M. Scott, 102, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.A daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel (Auman) Aebersold, Cora was born January 10, 1903 in Dundee, Ohio.She was a 1921 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was also a graduate of Kent State University. Cora, along with her husband William, owned and operated Scott Supply Company in New Philadelphia. She was also a school teacher for over 17 years.Cora was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia where she was also a member of the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. She was a past member of the East Ohio Teachers Association as well as a past member of the Tri Arts Club in New Philadelphia.She is survived by one son, Richard (Peg) Stewart of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Richard Stewart of Apache Junction, Arizona, Gary (Diana) Stewart of New Philadelphia, Steven (Ellen) Stewart of New Philadelphia and Bonny Wilson of New Philadelphia; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Wilson of New Philadelphia, Ryan Stewart of New Philadelphia and Sara Stewart of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.Cora was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ralph Stewart who died in 1928; her second husband, William Scott who died in 1995; two brothers, George and Albert Aebersold and two sisters, Flossie Halderman and Kathryn Fickes.Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service honoring Cora’s life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial will be held in New Cumberland Cemetery. Following the services, a memorial reception will be held at the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made in Cora’s name to the First United Methodist Church, 201 West High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
