Constance Emma Marshall age 81, of New Philadelphia, passed peacefully Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late Ms. Jessie Staley Rogers, Constance was born October 14, 1925 at Uhrichsville, and attended Uhrichsville High School. Better known as Connie to her friends, she came of age in the midst of the great depression and learned from her mother and sisters the great value of family. On February 9, 1943, Connie married Richard Marshall Sr. Mr. who served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II. During that time, Connie was left stateside to rear her young family that grew over the years to include six sons, four of whom survive. Constance was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia. She was a loving homemaker her entire life. Connie loved poetry, fishing, gardening and always anticipated a round of Bingo. Family get-togethers on weekends were the highlight of activities in the Marshall household.Survivors include her four sons, Richard “Rick” Marshall, Jr. with whom she resided, Jeff (Georgia) Marshall and Kevin W. (Diane) Marshall all of New Philadelphia, and Rodney W. “Rod” (Trell) Marshall, of Wauseon, Ohio.She’ll be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Angel of Greenfield, Indiana, Jeffrey Marshall Jr. of New Philadelphia, Shannon (Doug) Smith of New Philadelphia, Stefani Marshall of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Allison Marshall of New Philadelphia, Gigi Marshall and Dylan Marshall both of Wauseon, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Tori and Tanner Angel of Greenfield, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her pet Maltese, Winnie completes the family. In addition to her parents and husband, Constance was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy, on his third birthday, and infant son Kim Marshall at birth; three sisters, Irene Newton in her youth, and Nita Jo Wilson and Norma Warfield.In accordance with her wishes, Constance has been cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will be held (today) July, 27, 2007, at 1:30 in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Pastor David Carrick officiating. Following the committal service, a reception for family and friends will be held in the fellowship hall in First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church 217 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
