Connie Smith

Connie C. Smith, 77, of Mansfield, died Monday, June 10, 2013 in Ashland Hospice House following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Travis and Anna (Clerici) White, Connie was born July 3, 1935 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

Connie graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1953. On November 17, 1956 she married her true love, Edward W. Smith. The couple raised two children, David and Heather.

She was an avid quilter and had a love of sewing and will be dearly remembered for her beautiful works of art. Connie also enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Traci Smith of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Adam Thompson of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Brad, Taylor, Kiana and Marissa; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy White of Westerville and two nieces, Danielle and Amy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
