Clyde Fouts

Clyde C. Fouts, 86, of New Philadelphia, passed away on January 16, 2025, at Hennis Care Center in Dover after a long battle with multiple myeloma since 2019.

Born in Uhrichsville, he was the son of the late Clyde Raymond and Lena A. (Long) Fouts.

Clyde proudly served in the United States Army before going on to work for Peterman Plumbing and later Abacus in Arizona. He was an avid animal lover, hunter and gun collector and was also a co-founder of the Country Harmony Boys, where he played the steel guitar alongside his brother Frank and other group members. His generosity and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character.

Clyde married Louise A. Fouts on November 28, 1965, and they shared over 58 years of marriage before her passing.

He is survived by his daughter Taffy (fiancé Mark Beaber) Fouts of New Philadelphia. Additionally, he is survived by Taffy's close friend Jerri Meek, and beloved nieces, nephews, all of whom Clyde considered like children.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife; brothers, Frank (Norma), John (Maxine), and Joe (Peg) Fouts; and his parents-in-law, Clyde and Leona (Bennington) Ridgeway.

Cremation care is being provided by Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, with a private burial to follow at Dover Burial Park.

His family and friends will cherish his memory, his love, and the many ways he touched their lives.
