Clyde C. “Buss” Lamb, 79, formerly of New Philadelphia and Atwood Lake died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio from a heart condition. Born October 31, 1922 at Richmond, VA, he was a son of the late Clyde C. & Laura Dickey Lamb.Buss graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1941 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He was a retired employee of the Timken Company at Canton with over 40 years of service to the company.His memberships included the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia and life memberships in both the N.P. Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge #1445 and the N.P. Elks Lodge # 510.Buss loved sports. He enjoyed watching his three sons play football for New Philadelphia, his grandchildren playing for New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas Valley, Indian Valley, the University of Akron and Salem International. Road trips to these events were a large part of his life. He also enjoyed raising Bassett Hounds, and riding his pontoon boat, the “Frosty Float,” on Atwood Lake. His favorite saying was, “I’m going back home to where the tall pines grow”.He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Norma Jean Thomas and a son Bob Lamb. Survivors include two sons, Chess (Karen) Lamb of New Philadelphia and Jack (Dixie) Lamb of Atwood Lake; five grandchildren, Brande Lamb of North Carolina; Brooke, Ashley, B.J., and Matt Lamb of New Philadelphia and a step-grandson Jason Huff of Dover; two sisters-in law, Marybell Wisintainer of New Philadelphia, Gloria Thomas of Navarre, Ohio and a long time companion Mary Lou Otto of New Philadelphia.Services will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2002 at 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with the Rev. Stuart Barr officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia where the N.P. Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold military graveside honors. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home where the N.P. Elks Lodge will hold services at 5:45 PM.
