Clarice Beryl Furniss

Clarice Beryl Furniss, 88, of Dover, died Monday, April 23, 2013 in Park Village Health Care at Dover following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of the late Orville and Tyressa (Gray) Hursey, Clarice was born January 28, 1925 at Guernsey, Ohio.

Clarice graduated from Plainfield High School in 1943. She was formerly employed at Union Hospital at Dover and later retired from Twin City Hospital at Dennison. Clarice enjoyed quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Dale) Switzer of Mansfield; her son, John “Jack” Furniss of New Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Autumn Furniss of Dennison; a sister, Mary Jane Wherley of Canton and many nieces and nephews.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Espenscheid and two brothers, Loren and Gene Hursey.

In keeping with Clarice’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley.
