Clara Hitchcock, 93, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Stasburg and Bolivar, was born into eternal life Friday December 17, 2004 at New Dawn Healthcare and Retirement Center of Dover.She was born July 25, 1911 at Bolivar, Ohio to George F. and Louise Franz Margo and had attended school at Strasburg. Clara was retired as a private duty Licensed Practical Nurse.She was a member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia were she was active in the Senior group, Christian Mothers, LCBA and the Altar Society, she was also a member of the Senior Center and RSVP and was a charter member and past president of Division 20 Practical Nurse Association. She was a tireless volunteer at area nursing homes and the Senior Center and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived by a sister, Francis Steffe, of Strasburg; a brother, Albert Margo, of Dover, and numerous nieces and nephews.Clara was preceded in death by her husband Edgar J. Hitchcock whom she married December 30, 1933; her mother and father, sisters, Bertha Caladine, Amelia Weaver, and Ruth and Kathryn Margo; and brothers, Lewis, Raymond, Paul and Henry Margo.Visitation will be held Monday, December 20, 2004, 1 to 3p.m. and 6 to 8p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory where a Christian Wake service will be conducted by Fr. Mike Nimocks at 7:45 p.m. .Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating and Fr. Mike Nimocks as co-officiant. Burial will follow at St. Aloyisious Cemetery at Strasburg. A reception will be held at St. Ambrose Hall at New Philadelphia following the committal.
