Clara Grey Tomblin Goldsmith Nohl, age 87, of Bolivar, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 13, 2012 in her daughter’s home, with her family at her side, following a brief illness.
Born at Burnsville, West Virginia, July 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William and Mearl Gibson Tomblin, Sr.
Clara was a faithful member of the Bisel United Methodist Church, and had retired from Sparta Ceramics following thirty-three years of service.
At home, she enjoyed gardening, and cutting the grass. The highlight of her year was preparing breakfast for her extended family each Christmas.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-seven years, Larry Nohl, and a daughter, Linda, (husband, Dick) Harvey, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Goldsmith, all of Bolivar.
Five grandchildren; Troy (Stacey) Harvey of Akron, Tammy (Peter) Casaletto of Goshen, Indiana, Tresha (John Fabynick) Goldsmith of Atlanta, GA, Brian (Michelle) Goldsmith of Zoar, and Cara (Nick) Alleshouse of Bolivar also survive.
Five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bryce Harvey, Brandon Goldsmith, and Kayla and Lucas Casaletto, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her as “Aunt Mug”, complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her first husband, Okey W. Goldsmith, a son, Larry Goldsmith, five sisters and two brothers.
Friends are invited to call Monday morning from 10 – 11 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastors Roger L. Warnes and Dick Harvey will lead funeral services for Clara at 11 AM.
A reception will follow the service in the funeral center’s dining room.
