Christine Wassem

Christine Dawn Wassem, age 43, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 12, 2022, in her residence.

Born in Canton, Ohio on October 1, 1978, Chris was a daughter of Christopher Wassem of New Philadelphia and the late Judy Basiewicz.

Chris was a lovable soul who enjoyed listening to music, reading poetry, drawing, cooking, being with her family, and getting to know those she met.

Surviving are her brothers, Rylan Wassem and Nathan Fensler both of Dover; her nieces, Elizabeth and Natalie Fensler; aunts and uncles, Tony and Sharon Basiewicz, Rick and Connie Miller, Michael and Maureen Basiewicz, Tom Basiewicz, Nell White, Lucia and Pat Wellington, and Peggy and Eric Vitt as well as numerous cousins and their families.

In addition to her mother, Chris was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Amelia Wassem; her grandparents, Anton and Mildred Basiewicz; and her aunt and uncles, Terry and Todd Stephan and Steve Basiewicz.

No public services are planned at this time. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling cremation care.
