Christal M. Roth

Christal M. Roth, age 86, of Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center at Uhrichsville, entered her heavenly reward Thursday morning, December 22, 2005. Christal was born at Minerva, Ohio on September 20, 1919, a daughter of the late John Wesley Killinger and Christal P. Dick Killinger. Christal was one of seven children reared by John and Christal Killinger at Findley, Ohio. On May 1, 1937, she married the late Emmett Franklin “Al” Roth. A member of the Broadway United Methodist Church for more than fifty years, Christal was faithful to her Lord by actively serving Him as a member of Church Women United, serving as a volunteer for area literacy programs, and driving “elderly” friends and neighbors to their doctor’s appointments as far away as Cleveland into her 81st year. Christal was also a member of the former New Philadelphia Moose Lodge, had a green thumb and a gift for gardening, and loved to travel both domestically and internationally. One of the thrills of her life included a trip to the Holy land. She was also very fond of her pet dog Kerra, who preceded her in death. For more than 33 years, she was affiliated with The Timken Company at Canton retiring in 1980 as a roller bearing inspector. Survivors include five children, Mona J. Ronald of Columbus, Ohio, John E. (Rebecca) Roth of New Philadelphia, Emmett F. Roth Jr. of New Philadelphia, June A. (Carl) Squires of Strasburg, and Larry D. (Donna) Roth of Uhrichsville. One brother, George Killinger of California, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren complete the family. One sister and five brothers precede her in death. Friends are invited to call Monday, December 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Bill Sowers will lead services for Christal Tuesday afternoon, December 27, at 2 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery. Following the committal service, a reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
