Chet Ferrell, age 72, of 351 McConnell St., Uhrichsville, O., died April 27, 2003, at home with his immediate family at his bedside after a brief illness. Chet had retired from O.A. Heil Distributing Company. After retiring from truck driving, he was then employed by Monarch Management and was resident manager of Carroll Court Apartments for the elderly in Carrollton, O. He and his wife, Arlene, enjoyed six years of serving and assisting the elderly residents of that community. Chet leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Arlene G. Ferrell (Lamielle); three daughters, Christine (Dave) Craig of Dennison, O., Shelly (Dennis) LeMonte of New Philadelphia, O., and Stacy (Bill) Nordyke of Wainwright, O.; also one son, Jon Scott Ferrell and his loving companion Marcie Hanks of Uhrichsville, O.He also leaves his much-loved grandchildren, Nikkee and Brett Smitley of Dennison, O., Nannette (Ty) Cobb of Ragersville, O., Debbie (Leroy) Hartline of New Philadelphia, O., Diane (Ronnie) Holcomb of Goosecreek, S.C., Steven (Lisa) Sanner of New Philadelphia, O., RayLynn and Niles Holcomb of Wainwright, O., and Jason Ferrell and fiancée Brenda Smart. Chet also leaves his “Heart Adopted” grandchildren, Jenny, Frankie, Shane, Jerrod and Mandy Smith of Uhrichsville, O., Shawn Edwards of Uhrichsville, O., Mandy (Brian) Gambs of Midvale, O., and Bobby Hanks of Uhrichsville, O. In addition, there are eight great-grandchildren, Zack and Samantha Holcomb of Goosecreek, S.C., Breanna and Leroy Hartline Jr. of New Philadelphia, O., Aunna, Jasmine and Steven Sanner of New Philadelphia, O., and Brian Gambs of Midvale, O.Chet has three brothers, William (Shirley) Ferrell of Hamstead, Md., Robert (Christine) Ferrell of Stockton, Ga., and Tom (Janet) Ferrell of Florida; brother-in-law, Bill (Jerry) Lamielle of Canton, O.; sister-in-law, Lois McAtte of Dover, O.; also numerous nieces and nephews whom he shared many loving and wonderful times with.Also remaining are Chet’s closest “Bud” and friends Harold and Dawn Gilmore of Brightwood, O., and Raymond and Nancy Garbrandt of Dennison, O.He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoover and Mable Ferrell; brother-in-law, Ray W. Lamielle; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Boekel of Canton, O.Let it be said by all he was well loved and will leave a great VOID in all the lives he touched. Per Chet’s wishes and at the family’s request, there will be no funeral services or calling hours. His body will be cremated and buried in Greenmont Cemetery in Freeport, O., at a later date when family and friends will attend graveside services in his memory.Chet was a graduate of Freeport High School and was president of his senior class.
