Chester V. Limbacher, 89, of Dover, died Monday, January 20, 2014 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Jacob and Frances (Domer) Limbacher, Chester was born March 8, 1924 at Baltic, Ohio.
Chester was the owner and operator of the former Dover Gulf Gas Station. He then worked as a truck driver for Tuscarawas County and eventually retired from Empire Reeves Steel.
He enjoyed signing up at various local clubs and was a life member of the Dover Elks Lodge, the Dover Eagles Lodge and the Zoar Gun Club. Chester was also a member of the Dover V.F.W, Dover Moose Lodge and the Dover Army-Navy Club.
In his spare time, Chester enjoyed fishing in Canada and attending gas and steam engine shows.
He is survived by his children, Gary (Susie) Limbacher of Dover and Susan (Rich) Phillips of East Bend, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Becky (Jeff) Zeigler and Debbie Edwards both of Dover and Keith Limbacher of New Philadelphia; five great grandchildren, Jessie Teeter and Cale and Jenna Zeigler, Logan Martin and Emili Edwards; a great great grandchild, Brantly Teeter; two brothers, Art (Marge) Limbacher of Baltic and Robert (Nancy) Limbacher of Dover and many nieces and nephews.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Dahler.
In keeping with Chester’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
