Charlotte Ball, 72, of Dover, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.One of sixteen children in the family of the late James B. and Miriam Yost Miskimen, she was born on May 31, 1932 in Kinsman, Ohio. Following the family’s move to New Philadelphia, she attended New Philadelphia High School and graduated as the class valedictorian in l950.Two years later, on December 27, l952, she married Donald W. Ball, and with him raised three children. In addition to caring for her family, she was materials manager at General Electric Company in Dover, retiring after 35 years of service.She was involved in the local Money Cents Investment Club and enjoyed playing bridge. The light of her life, however, was her family, especially her seven grandchildren.She will be greatly missed by her husband, her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Steve Hardbarger of Newark, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Tania Ball, Jr., of Brewster; son, Edward Ball of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Seth Newton, Donald (Christa) Ball, III, Erin Newton, Eddie Ball, Brittany Ball, Jacque Ball, and Amber Ball; sisters, Catherine (Raymond) Rudd, Betty (George) Sell, Margaret (Bill) Neff, Jane (Bill) Colton, and Harriet Everhart; and brothers, James T. (Rita) Miskimen, Dave (Peg) Miskimen, Dan (Ruth) Miskimen, Paul (LaVaughn) Miskimen, John (Cheri) Miskimen, and Hugh (Kay) Miskimen.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucy Loader and Mary Ann Walsh; and brothers, Bob Miskimen and Dick Miskimen.Visitation will be on Sunday , October 17, 2004, from 5 Â? 8 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Charlotte’s brother, Pastor John Miskimen, on Monday morning, October 18, at 10:00 am in the Geib Chapel. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park. Following services, a reception will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.Memorial contributions to honor Charlotte’s life may be made to the Ruth Carlson Starlight Foundation, 638 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH, 44663, or to the American Cancer Society, 201-A West Ohio Avenue, Dover, OH 44622.
