Charles William Sours, 83, of Midvale, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at New Dawn Retirement Community. Charlie was born on March 18, 1923 in Luray, Virginia, to the late Elmer Luther and Grace Bell Miller Sours. Upon graduating in 1942 from Midvale High School, Charlie went to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 120th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. On May 11, 1946, he married the late Norma Rose Beamer Sours, whom died August 20, 1994. He went to work for Gradall where he had 35 years of service as a welder. Charlie was a lifetime member of the Midvale Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Roxford United Methodist Church, and Tuscarawas Warwick Senior Citizens. He was formerly a member of the Midvale Volunteer Fire Department, a three year member on the Water Board, the Water Superintendent and a member of the Midvale Goshen local School Board.He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Dinger whom he married October 28, 1995. Children, John Sours of Midvale, Patsy (Karl) Cunningham of Dennison, Vicki (Robert) Phillips of Bolivar; grandchildren, Todd Herman of Gnadenhutten, Jamie (Julie) Herman of Abbeville, South Carolina, Jason (Cindy) Herman of New Philadelphia, Jenny (Chuck) Wenger of Midvale, Kimmy (Steve) Stockdale of Twinsburg, Ohio, Angie (Steve) Neff of Canton, Ohio, Andrew Sours of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Jameson Herman, Julian Herman, Jaden Herman, Jacie Herman, Jacob Herman, Austin Herman, Nathan Wenger, Kristen Wenger, Leo Wenger, Benjamin Stockdale, Casandra Rex, and Calista Neff. Also surviving are step-children, Dave (Karen) Green of Midvale, Cindy (Keith) Gowins of Dennison; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Green of Dublin, Ohio, Wendi Green of Midvale, David Green II of Midvale, Sabrina Gowins of Dennison, and Tabitha Gowins of Dennison; brothers and sisters, Benton Sours of Midvale, Nina Sours of Brightwood, Elva Johnson of Dennison, Frances (David) Day of Roswell, Martha Hobart of New Philadelphia, George (Sandy) Sours of New Philadelphia, David Sours of Brightwood; sisters-in-law, Henel Davis of Holiday, Florida, and Jane Dinger of Midvale.Friends are invited to call Sunday, October 15, 2006, from 2:00 til 5:00 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia.The Pastor Bob Mathais will lead the Sours funeral Monday morning, October 16, at 11:00 in the Roxford United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Roxford United Methodist Cemetery.Following the committal service, a reception will be given for family and friends in the Roxford Family Life Center, across from the cemetery.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Roxford United Methodist Church, 771 Roxford Church Road SE, Dennison, OH 44621 or Midvale Lions Club, C/O Dick White, P.O.
