Charles “Chuck” William Kreinbihl, 80, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.A son of the late Lewis and Minnie (Schlicher) Kreinbihl, Chuck was born November 16, 1927 at Dennison, Ohio.A life long resident of Tuscarawas County, Chuck graduated from Dennison High School in 1946. Then on July 2, 1951, he married the love of his life, the former Dorothy “Dot” Watson. Together, the couple reared two children, Carol and Mike.Chuck was retired from Claymont City Schools where he worked as the longtime groundskeeper of the Claymont Stadium facilities. Prior to that, he had been employed by Larsen Clay Company at Uhrichsville for 25 years.He was a member of Jerusalem Church at New Philadelphia as well as a former member of both the Claymont Booster Club and the Dennison Eagles. Chuck was also an avid sports fan. Even though he would receive a lot of criticism from family and friends, he was a passionate New York Yankees fan. Chuck and his wife, Dot were also fans of Claymont Sports. They could faithfully be found sitting side by side at football and basketball games as well as wrestling matches.Chuck dearly loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. He and Dot loved to travel and they were proud of the fact they visited all fifty states together. He also was active in the lives of his grandchildren who they knew as the “Man of Steel”. Chuck always enjoyed attending their sporting events and dance recitals.His family will always remember him for his love of life and it was his love of life and his love of family that encouraged him to beat the odds on several different occasions.Chuck will be remembered for being a fun loving person with such a kind personality. He enjoyed playfully kidding with those he came into contact with, especially the students, coaches and the others through his time at the stadium. Chuck was always able to bring a smile to the faces of those around him.He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy “Dot” Kreinbihl; his daughter, Carol Mutti and her husband Glenn of Stone Creek; his son, Ret. Sr. Master Sergeant Charles Mike Kreinbihl and his wife, Lora of Montgomery, Alabama; his three grandchildren, Sam Mutti of Stone Creek and Sarah Mutti of New Concord, Ohio and Charles L. Kreinbihl of Montgomery, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Kreinbihl and Anna Mary Greenwalt and four brothers, Ed, Art, Don and Bob Kreinbihl.Family and friends may call on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Dr. Rev. Terry Downin officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery at Stone Creek.
