Charles Frampton, 88, of Dover died Saturday, November 21, 2015 peacefully at his home.
Born at Pennsylvania on July 7, 1927 he was a son of the late Jarvie and Elisabeth (Hutchison) Frampton.
Chuck was a graduate of Homer City High School and on July 10, 1949, married his high school sweetheart, Clara. They raised their family in Streetsboro and were actively involved with the Northfield Baptist Church and later were instrumental in starting Faith Baptist Church at Streetsboro, where they were life members. Following their retirement, Chuck and Clara relocated to Dover and for the past 12 years their faith was nurtured at the Dover Bible Church. Throughout his lifetime within the church, he served in many capacities and was always the first to lend a hand to help wherever and whenever needed.
Chuck began working at an early age, driving coal truck in the hills of Pennsylvania under special permit at age 15 and later worked in the Lucerne Coal Mines before learning the trade of a tool and die maker. He enjoyed his time as the owner/operator of Chuck’s City Service at Macedonia and soon took a position with Lamb Electric, putting his tool and die skills to work for over 20 years, before retiring in 1989.
As an avid fisherman, Chuck earned the nick name “Fish Hook”. He also enjoying deer hunting, helping others in any way he could, building and fixing about anything and bowling every Monday; maintaining a 120 plus average. Chuck was also proud to have been Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid and was an 8 gallon plus blood donor.
He will be missed by his sons; Pastor David (Sharon) Frampton of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and Mark (Kathy) Frampton of Hiram, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Frampton, Trevor (companion, Bess) Frampton and Janelle (Matt) Olson all of Pennsylvania; three sisters-in-law, Janet Reid and Ruth Reegor, both of Pennsylvania and Florence Reid; a brother-in-law, James Reid both of Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Clara who passed on July 15, 2015 and two sisters.
The family will greet guests one hour prior to services on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 10-11 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Luke Holt will lead a service celebrating Chuck’s life at 11 AM. Burial alongside his wife will follow in the Dover Burial Park.
