Charles A. Pauline, age 64, of New Philadelphia, went to be with the Lord late Thursday evening, May 26, 2005 in Aultman Hospital at Canton, following a lengthy illness. Born at home in Midvale, October 10, 1940, Charles was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Skelly Pauline Jr. He graduated from St. Joseph High School at Dover in 1959. Charles was a Vietnam Veteran, having entered the United States Army from 1963 until 1965 when he transferred to the United States Air Force serving honorably until his discharge in April, 1971.Mr. Pauline worked for the former Marsh Lumber Company until its closure in 2003. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, and the company of his tow dogs, B.J. and Kody. His family includes his wife of twenty-two years, the former Shirley Wagner, whom he married July16, 1982, a stepson; James Wagner of New Philadelphia, three sisters; Angie Beans of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Frances Brown of Lake Forrest, California, and Veronica (Wayne) Cunningham of Dennison, a brother; Joe (Sondra) Pauline of Dover, a step-grandson; Dylan Wagner of New Philadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his daughter; Gina, And sisters Maryann and Marcella. Monsignor George J. Schlegel of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will lead a funeral ceremony Tuesday morning, May 31, 2005 at 10 AM in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will receive friends from 9am until the beginning of the service. Cremation will follow at Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and interment at Calvary cemetery will be scheduled later in the week.
