Chad Lenarz

Chad N. Lenarz, age 43, of Dover, died peacefully early Monday, August 31, 2015, in his residence with his wife and mother by his side, following a four month battle with cancer.

A son of Darlene Ennis Hampton of Dover and the late Calvin Lenarz, Chad was born in Union Hospital at Dover on February 23, 1972.

Following his graduation from New Philadelphia High School in 1990, Chad married the love of his life, Melissa Haney-Lenarz on May 30, 1992.

The family spent 17 years in North Carolina and most recently returned to the area where for the past two years, Chad has been employed at Union Metals at Canton as a Millwright.

In his free time, Chad enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, horseback riding, working on projects around the house and attending SCA Equine Games. He was a fan of Jimmy Johnson and NASCAR racing and loved following the activities and sporting events of his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother and his wife, Chad leaves behind his children, Heather (Joe Amen) Haney of Canton and Matthew Lenarz of Dover; a brother, Scott Lenarz of Columbus; his in-laws, Randy and Charlotte Haney, Sr. of Wainwright; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy (Kathy) Haney Jr. of Cadiz; Chad Haney of Newcomerstown, Charlotte M. (James Knight) Haney of Cadiz, and Stacey (Kevin) McMullen of Newcomerstown. Completing the family are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, a nephew Michael Haney and a sister-in-law, Penny Lynn Haney.

At Chad’s request, his father-in-law, Pastor Randy Haney, Sr. will lead a memorial service on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 4:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Immediately following the service, the family will greet guests during a reception in the Funeral Center’s Hospitality Room.
