Chad A. McCahill

August 2, 1974 — August 15, 2015

Chad Allen McCahill, age 41, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a tractor accident while working at his Noble County property.

A son of Brenda K. Lynn McCahill of New Philadelphia and the late Charles “Chip” McCahill, Chad was born in Union Hospital at Dover on August 2, 1974.

He was a 1994 graduate of New Philadelphia High School where he was active in the baseball, wrestling and football programs. Following graduation, Chad began working at UPS and has served the company in a variety of capacities for the past 20 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman, some say he lived to hunt. He greatly enjoyed spending the off season preparing cameras, setting up food plots, and keeping up on the latest deer hunting equipment. Chad was a skilled bow hunter, who also enjoyed muzzleloader season. In addition to enjoying nature, Chad loved four-wheeling, following high school wrestling and being a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Chad was a beloved family man who will be deeply missed by his wife of 13 years, the former Rebecca “Becki” Johnston whom he married on June 22, 2002; their two year old son, Levi; a brother, Kevin (Angela) McCahill Columbus; a sister, Tammie (Olin) Gordon of Dover; his niece and nephews, Aniston McCahill, Kamden McCahill and Aidan Gordon; his maternal grandmother, Jean Walker of New Philadelphia, and his maternal step-grandmother, Doris Lynn of Freeport.

Completing the family are his mother and father-in-law, Charles and Kathryn Tustin of New Philadelphia; his brothers and sisters-in-law, their families and many lifelong friends.

In addition to his father, Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
