Cathryn E. "Cathy" McRobie

Cathryn E. “Cathy” McRobie, 71, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 in Cleveland Clinic-Union Hospital at Dover, following a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born in Dover, Cathy was the daughter of the late Joe and Delores (Mowrer) Pisony and on September 25, 1971, she married Gary A. McRobie and together they shared over 52 years of marriage. Cathy loved being a homemaker, stay at home mom and babysitter for numerous family members over the past 50 years. She thoroughly loved being with all of her grandchildren or just sitting on the many different, white sand beaches in Florida with Siesta Key being her favorite. Cathy also enjoyed shopping and had an extensive collection of Gnomes.

In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kim McRobie of Dover; her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and James Miller of Millersburg; her grandchildren, Taylor McRobie and her fiancé, Billy Mardis of Newcomerstown, Kortney McRobie of Malvern, Javen Miller and Connor Miller of Millersburg; a great grandson, Maximus Mardis; a brother, Dan Pisony of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Connie Gross and Jody (Melvin) Ash of Venice, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews complete her family.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Porcher.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4 to 6 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia where a service celebrating Cathy’s life will begin at 6 PM with Pastor Earl Miller officiating. In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, following the service, cremation care is to be provided and a private burial will take place at a later date.

To honor Cathy’s love of the many children that she cared for over the years, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the fund that has been created for the victims and families of the Tusky Valley Bus Accident  in care of “The Trojan Foundation” at any First Federal Community Bank.
